WP1 in the spirit of H2020, the new aim is to define a proper Verification & Validation methodology, which, thanks to a set of coherent performance indicators at the strategic, tactical and operational levels, allows to minimise the risk connected both to the Research and to the Innovation activities.
User Scenarios, Requirement and Validation
As indicated by the 5 tussles, product-service design in value chains is a quite complex socio-economic-technical system. Without an adequate requirements engineering methodology to elicit, specify, generalise and validate the requirements, the project couldn’t have the foundations for its Research and Innovation Activities.
WP2 is therefore the voice of manufacturing industry and has been adequately staffed in order to play this fundamental role.
Symbiotic design-manufacturing collaboration
WP3 symbiotically solves the engineering-production tussle, by defining PLM reference models and knowledge sharing mechanisms, synthesising them in the specification of new collaborative processes and implementing them in a value chain PLM Collaboration Platform.
Symbiotic product-service lifecycle concurrency
WP4 symbiotically solves the product-service tussle, by defining SSME reference models and PLM-SLM interaction mechanisms, synthesising them in the specification of new SLM-PLM knowledge/process interoperable mechanisms and implementing them in a value chain SLM Concurrency Platform.
Symbiosys knowledge-sentiment cooperation
WP5 symbiotically solves the knowledge-sentiment tussle, by defining professional knowledge and crowd wisdom management mechanisms, synthesising them in the specification of new cooperative product-service design processes and implementing them in a value chain KM Cooperation Platform.
SOA-EDA Secure IT for P-S Real Digital World
WP6 symbiotically solves the SOA-EDA technical tussle, by defining three main topics to be studied and developed (privacy-security-trust, IoT and semantic interoperability) and implementing them in a conclusive value chain Symbiotic Real-Digital World interconnection Platform for Manufacturing Intelligence in product-service design value networks.
Symbiotic business-innovation strategy in prod-serv
WP7 symbiotically solves the business-innovation tussle, by defining three main topics to be studied and developed (product-centric industrial models, service-centric new business models and product-service testing and simulation models) and implementing them in a conclusive collaborative model in product-service design value networks.
Manufacturing intelligence Tools and Platform
WP8 symbiotically address the Manufacturing Intelligence challenge, by defining three main topics to be studied and developed and implementing them in a conclusive mobile-enabled Symbiotic Manufacturing Intelligence Platform in product-service design value networks.
Architecture, Integration, Testing & Systems Deployment
WP9 is mostly concerned with coordination, integration and instantiation of the IT platforms developed inside the project.
Trials, Experimentation and Demonstrator
WP10 have the meaning of a proof of a Research concept, but they are also the basis for PSYMBIOSYS innovation action. Evidencing the business benefits achieved in the trials by means of tangible industrial demonstrators, defining best practices and guidelines for trials expansion, developing recommendations and benchmarks will allow a concrete and effective preparation of exploitation well before the end of the project.
Innovation, Dissemination, Experimentation
WP11 include the activities related to dissemination and exploitation of project’s results. The main challenge here, again dictated by H2020, is to reconcile two different ways to conceive innovation: the IT-service viewpoint with its quick pace and young stakeholders and the Manufacturing-product viewpoint with its certified protocols and experimented engineering knowledge. Specific actions will be organised to put the two souls in contact and get to very innovative but effective product-service solutions in our four trials.
